Sharon’s Productivity Tips
Cleaning up your business is more than just the physical appearance and cleanliness of your space. Year-end is a great time to do some other ‘clean-up’ of your business to get you ready to start the year off right.
Business clean-up tips
Clean your files, both electronic and paper. Move electronic files you haven’t used in 6 or 8 months to an external hard drive or other storage device and send paper files to an off-site storage area. Make sure you have a system in place so that this can be an ongoing process.
Update software programs and operating systems. Change is constant when it comes to technology. Do you and your employees have the most up-to-date version of the software needed to keep your employees productive? On the flip side, if you no longer use a program or app, clean up your computer desktop and get rid of it!
Unsubscribe. One of the most fun things to do! Put a stop to those emails you say you’re going to read but never do. Why waste time deleting emails that never get read?
Update employee photos. It can be easy to forget about taking down photos of those who no longer work for you. Year-end is also a great time to get some fun and interesting candid photos of your employees.
Clean up those social sites. Do an audit of your company’s social media sites. Are you telling the same story across all sites? Is your name, address and phone number consistent? What are people saying or asking for on your social sites?
Update that copyright year. As we move into 2016, make sure you update the copyright language typically at the bottom of your website. You want visitors to know that the information is current.
